What are the types of web hosting
Web Hosting is the process of allocating a storage space for different websites, so that you can see your website in the Internet or World Wide Web. To make the website or your blog accessible to the public or people across the globe, you will have to store your website files in a storage space called servers. Servers are similar to your hard disks, but located in such a way that the contents in it is accessible in the Internet. There are basically 3 different types of website hosting platforms. They are Shared hosting, VPS hosting and Dedicated hosting.
Shared Hosting
Shared hosting is a hosting platform where multiple websites of different customers are stored in a single Shared server. In this case the server will be managed by the hosting provider. The user will not have the access to the server root. Here the bandwidth and speed of server is shared by many customers( may not be equally). When many are using different websites in the same Shared server, there is a chance that the website may go down or load slow.
VPS(Virtual Private Server) Hosting
VPS hosting is another kind of hosting platform where limited number of websites are stored in a server. Here one large server acts as a multiple small servers, providing the 'root access' to the customer who uses it. Even though the customer or user is not having the full access to the server, he/she will be in an impression that he/she is owning a part of server.
Dedicated Hosting
In case of Dedicated hosting, the entire server is being owned by the customer or the user. The customer will have the full access to the server. There is no one else sharing the server in this case. Since there is only one customer using the entire server, the website will be loading much faster if hosted in a Dedicated server.
